On March 22 the Business Council of Mongolia (BCM) in collaboration with House Expo 2024 organised its monthly meeting on the "Effects of ESG on the Housing Market" in Ulaanbaatar, Shangri-la hotel. 22
The House Expo is one of the largest construction sector events which provides opportunities to promote and sell private houses and luxury apartments to the customers which organized for the last 3 years.
The keynote speakers and panelists included representatives of Ministry of Construction and urban development, Financial regulatory commission, Mongolian Green Building Council, Mongolian Mortgage corporation and GRATA International Mongolia. Participants spoke with presentations and engaged in the discussions about the importance of ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) principles and their crucial role in advancing green housing initiatives, which play a vital role in reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
Bolormaa Volodya, Partner and Executive Director of GRATA International Mongolia delivered a comprehensive presentation focusing on ESG and its international and local regulatory framework. Additionally she shared the best practices of the international and local companies on ESG reporting and participated to the panel discussion regarding practical insights of the ESG in Mongolia.
The meeting covered the government's strategies for sustainable housing and shared recent real estate statistics, offering insights into affordable housing and the availability of funds and incentives for green projects. Furthermore, discussions addressed the challenges associated with ESG reporting and disclosure standards in Mongolia.
