Alexey has comprehensive knowledge of the Kazakhstani legislation in the field of subsoil use, energy and corporate governance. Alexey has been involved in successful working off and elaboration of legal issues at various levels of the ministries of the Republic of Kazakhstan in terms of the restructuring of assets and owners of strategic objects and/or strategic subsoil deposits. Alexey has more than fifteen years of experience in leading legal teams in Kazakhstan as well as coordination of the compliance matters. Alexey has worked on and led several high-priority projects and assignments at the level of different Ministries of the Republic of Kazakhstan and state owned enterprises.

  • Legal support of the agreement between JSC «NAC «Kazatomprom» and U1 on boosting capacity of strategic joint venture within the framework of intergovernmental agreement between Russia and Kazakhstan as well as the Decrees of the RK’s Government in the sphere of the development of the nuclear industry;
  • Within the frame of the common working group with JSC «NAC «Kazatomprom» were implemented new unified corporate procedures and documents at the level of Uranium One Inc. joint ventures;
  • Obtaining  all the necessary permissions and waivers at the levels of the RK’s ministries with respect to the 100% acquisition of Uranium One Inc. by ARMZ;
  • Legal support in completing the JV assets’ restructuring in accordance with the roadmap, worked out between JSC «Rosatom» и JSC «NAC «Kazatomprom» and signed in the presence of the Presidents of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Russian Federation;
  • Obtaining all the necessary permissions and waivers at the levels of the RK’s ministries with respect to Kazakhmys’s acquisition of 26% shares of ENRC (FTSE 100) one of the world's leading diversified companies in the extraction and processing of natural resources;
  • Management of the FIDIC Contracts;
  • Providing internal legal support with respect to USD2.1 billion pre-export finance facility for strategic projects;
  • Legal assistance in obtaining   all the necessary permissions and waivers at the levels of the RK’s ministries with respect to selling of Kazakhmys’s 50% share in power plant GRES-1 to JSC Samruk-Kazyna;
  • Providing legal support to the restructuring of the assets of coalmine within AES Group of Companies;
  • Providing legal support to the restructuring of Kazakhstani AES Group of Companies, necessary for the alienation of the part of the assets to Kazakhmys Plc.
